Please Note: We deal by collection only.
You then can view and check over the bike and charger before leaving.
We sell quality bikes at a very reasonably price. Stocks are near Lewes,
East Sussex.
. . . . . . .
These are our favourites and
we use ourselves but cant get anymore at mo!! We do at times have
a few back as secondhand... kids decide not to use anymore! So always
worth a ring/email..
At the moment 27th April 2008
we have a grey and a turquoise only available. Both 2nd user and or
demonstrators. Both can only be sold as seen, tried and tested near
Lewes, East Sussex. Each we can sell for £90 each.
Both of these as of 29th April are now reserved by potential customers!
The powerful yet silent motor only needs
a few rotations of the pedals to engage, after which the twist throttle
on the handlebars needs to be used to accelerate quickly up to the
top speed (22km/h) and stops just as fast. Simply a joy to ride and
soon becomes a reliable and faithful friend to get you from A - B.

These are legal electric bikes! They are completely road legal, ie
do not need licence, tax, insurance or helmet. For road use as we
read the law you need to be over 14yrs and for safety sake we do recommend
that you wear a helmet but this is not a legal requirement. If you
would like more information please telephone 07973 865850(Lewes,
East Sussex). We have users in Lewes, Eastbourne,Brighton,
Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and by mail order in many areas of the
UK!
To confirm these are road
legal bikes not like many on sale at the moment. One of ours identical
to the above was unfortunately stopped and threatened with confiscation
locally by Mr Plod whilst being ridden locally by a 14 year old lad.
Mum had bought it for him as a birthday present! However it was checked
out by the powers that be, his sergeant, and now carries a sticker
supplied by the local constabulary saying that they are a road legal
bicycle!
How Are They Legal?
New legislation is rapidly bringing the UK into line with the rest
of Europe. For the first time a new inexpensive, alternative means
of transport is being encouraged. You choose to pedal as much or as
little as you want, but you will enjoy the fresh air, observe much
more and beat the city traffic. Rest assured that our range of products
comply with all new standards and much more besides. We sell with
adjusted so that you must peddle initially to start the powered motor.
This is as the law stood pre July. It now appears that the law allows
the electric motor to operate without the need of pedaling, this can
be achieved by re attaching the 2 blue wires together in the loom
situated in the casing under the seat. A very simple adjustment means
you do not have to peddle from a cold start as at traffic lights!
These blue wires are male and female and can be easily clipped together
or unclipped as required. On our personal scooters we have added an
extra rear flashing/continuous battery operated light as bought from
the local cycle store. This we have found improved our safety at night.
We use regularly in the dark lanes of Sussex at night! Visibility
is all important to us. We can easily show you these minor modifications

The legal stuff:
Electric bikes are still bicycles, so have no road tax, no insurance,
no MOT, no license plates, etc. To comply with this, they have to be
limited to a maximum speed under power of 15mph (24KPH)..(although you
can pedal faster than this if you want, of course) and an average power
of 200W (250W for an electric tricycle) The current situation: At present,
all electric bicycles sold in the UK should comply with the EAPC (Electrically
Assisted Pedal Cycle) Regulations. These say that an electric bicycle
is classed as a bicycle if the motor will not provide any power above
15mph, and that the motor must have a continuous output of no more than
200W. All cycles which fall within these limits are legally treated
as bicycles - you can ride them without a license, and they don't need
insurance, road tax or a helmet. Any cycles which exceed these limits
are classed as mopeds, and must be type-certified, insured, taxed, etc.
What is coming: The EU wants to standardise the type certification legislation
across the whole of the community. For this, they have issued a Directive
(2002/24/EC), which states that any electric cycle which conforms to
certain restrictions will be exempt from type certification, and will
be treated as a bicycle. The new restrictions are: maximum of 25km/h
under power (approx. 16mph), maximum continuous output of 250W, and
the cycle must stop if the rider stops pedaling.
LATEST NEWS (July 2004): Electric Bicycle Legislation
It appears the UK Department for Transport is now clearly stating that
electric bicycles can supply power without being pedaled. Is this the
end? Not quite. The legal position of bikes caught between the UK limit
of 200 watts output and the European limit of 250 watts output is still
ambiguous.
LATEST NEWS (January 2004): Electric Bicycle Legislation
We understand that the UK Department for Transport has legal advice
that their interpretation of the electric bicycle legislative tangle
is wrong and would be unsupportable in a court of law. If this is so
- and we have no written confirmation - the law will return to its previous
British form. In short this means that the requirement to pedal before
power can be applied will be dropped! More soon, meanwhile, the complex
paragraphs may still be relevant.
Below are a few comments from buyers worth noting!
Hi Ian
Just wanted to inform you of a few things regarding the
bike. Firstly the
brakes need to be adjusted and tested as mine did not work coming down
a
steep hill and scared the living daylights out of me :O). The front
brake
cable was installed inside the front body work and restricting the front
brake and causing it to rub on the body work. There is a hole coming
out
the bottom of the handle bar housing and there should possibly be a
small
clip holding this in place. The way it was built when I picked it up
the
cable was restricted and at an angle when it should be straight.
I have the back light working although it had to be completely
rewired by an
engineer. It appears that it should be working and that everything is
there
but its been wired wrongly at the factory!!!
There should also be a light illuminating the speed dials
but as there is a
big bulb underneath for it but this doesn't work either, it will be
soon;O)
but the people who worked on it for me was at it till 5am this
morning....they both agreed that it is an excellent machine!
It is not possible to just rearrange the plugs to get
the back light
working as they had to attach a feed from the main controller box. This
should have been there from the factory as if, they have wrongly wired
the
indicators to the rear light!
I am very happy with the deal you done me....and this
is in no way me
complaining but just to let you know what I have found out, the brake
thing
you need to look at as I know you said some young boys are buying them
and
you know they will be going down steep hills!!lol.
Best Regards
Ralph
